What to Prepare Before Ordering a Lyric Video (Checklist)
The quality of a lyric video depends heavily on what the artist provides. Well-prepared files mean faster delivery, fewer revisions and a better final video. Here's the exact checklist we send our own clients.
The three essential files
- Your song: the final master as WAV or 320kbps MP3. Not a voice memo, not a rough mix that will change — sync work is redone from scratch if the timing shifts.
- Your lyrics: a plain text file with the lyrics exactly as sung — every repeat, every ad-lib, every 'yeah'. Line breaks where you'd naturally pause help us pace the video.
- Your cover art: the highest resolution version you have (3000×3000 ideally). Even if it won't appear in the video, it defines the color and typography direction.
The details that elevate the result
Beyond the essentials, a short creative brief transforms the outcome. Tell us the genre and mood in a sentence, link 1–3 lyric videos you love (and say what you love about them), mention any colors or fonts to use or avoid, and flag the key lines — the hook, the quotable bar — that deserve special visual emphasis.
If your song is in a non-Latin script (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic), add timestamps to each lyric line so sync is exact. For Latin-script languages, we handle sync in any language without timestamps.
What you don't need to worry about
You don't need to know styles, software, or technical terms. You don't need storyboards. 'Dark and cinematic like the album art' or 'bright and bouncy, kind of like this video' is a perfectly good brief — visual direction is the studio's job. And deadlines: tell us your release date up front, and we'll tell you honestly whether standard 5–7 day delivery covers it or you need our express option.
Ready when you are
